What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Dispatcher position at SERVE, Inc.?
SERVE, Inc. offers a variety of services such as a county-wide food pantry, emergency financial assistance for individuals facing financial difficulties, low cost clothing and household items, and our county's Public Transportation system.
General Purpose/Job Summary:
The main functions of the Transportation Dispatch position include:
1) Scheduling & Dispatching Bus Rides
2) Assisting Transportation Lead as needed
The Transportation Dispatcher will work under the direction of the Transportation Lead and will require the following qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Exellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and handle time-sensitive situations
- Previous experience in dispatching or transportation management is preferred
Scheduling & Dispatching duties include:
- Answer transportation telephone calls from the public and enter reservations for bus rides
- Daily dispatching as calls come in
- Scheduling trips, buses, drivers, and routes for the following day
TRAN Lead Assistance duties include:
- Assist Drivers with needs when TRAN Lead is unavailable
- Help with monthly billing as needed
- Carry on-call phone as needed
- Any other duties assigned

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
