Position Summary
The Operations Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring products move efficiently throughout Seroogy's Chocolates. This position is responsible for local deliveries, inventory support, shipping assistance, order preparation, stocking, and general operational support across multiple departments. The ideal candidate enjoys a variety of responsibilities, works independently, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to help the team succeed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Delivery & Transportation
- Pick, verify, and prepare orders for delivery.
- Load and unload products safely and efficiently.
- Transport products between company locations, customers, vendors, and other designated destinations.
- Operate company vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures when required.
- Inspect company vehicles and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Ensure products arrive safely, accurately, and on schedule.
Shipping & Fulfillment Support
- Assist the Shipping Supervisor with order fulfillment and shipping operations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Help maintain shipping supplies and packing materials.
- Verify order accuracy before shipment.
- Assist during periods of high shipping volume and seasonal demand.
Inventory & Warehouse Support
- Assist with stocking inventory throughout the facility.
- Rotate inventory using FIFO practices.
- Help receive incoming shipments and verify product quantities.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Organize warehouse, storage, and backstock areas to maintain efficiency.
- Assist with transferring inventory between retail locations and departments.
General Operations
- Complete company errands as requested by management.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and vehicles.
- Assist other departments as business needs require.
- Support seasonal production, retail, or warehouse projects during peak periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous delivery, warehouse, shipping, or inventory experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
Job Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate company delivery vehicles.
- Ability to read delivery documents, invoices, and shipping paperwork.
- Ability to safely operate carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to become forklift certified (training provided).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends during peak holiday seasons.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Push, pull, and maneuver loaded carts and pallets.
- Frequently bend, squat, kneel, reach, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in warehouse, retail, and outdoor environments during deliveries.
