Food Service Technician (Full time, Sun-Thurs)

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, flexible hours

The  Food service Technician supports our clients through food preparation, ensuring adequate stock, kitchen supplies and safe food handling practices. Typical duties preparing meals with clients in accordance with menus planned by our chef and their specific dietary plans. Core functions include maintaining kitchen safety and sanitation, and communicating as a with other team members, including kitchen staff and members of the clinical team as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a well-stocked kitchen
• Upholding proper sanitation requirement
• Food preparation in accordance to client individualized meal plans
• Cooking and baking with clients as therapeutically recommended by Dietitian and Chef
• Picking up meals/groceries when needed
• Receiving shipped food and kitchen products and documenting accordingly in stock logs

Requirements:

• Ability to communicate with persons from all educational and cultural backgrounds
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must demonstrate tact, initiative, resourcefulness, a professional manner, enthusiasm, and a non-judgmental attitude
• Be self-motivated
• Ability to prepare under direction of nutrition staff and Chef, an individualized menu plan for each client
• Ability to implement specific dietary exchange patterns through knowledge of portion size and dietary exchange system
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients
• Ability to communicate effectively to all staff in implementing the dietary programs
• Must have the ability to provide documentation or obtain a state-required food handlers permit, or Serve Safe Certification, upon hire
