Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
- Review and verify patient medical records for completeness and accuracy before billing.
- Ensure proper documentation of procedures and diagnoses to support billing claims.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective collection strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities and patient accounts within EMR/EHR systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies.
- Assist in resolving billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Prior experience in medical billing or coding is required, with familiarity in handling ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, and DRG classifications.
- Knowledge of medical office procedures, medical terminology, and medical records management is essential.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical collection processes and insurance claim procedures is advantageous.
- Proven ability to work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
