Duties
- Operate lawn mowers, power tools, and grounds maintenance equipment to cut grass, trim hedges, and perform landscape upkeep efficiently and safely
- Maintain landscapes by planting, pruning, trimming trees, and managing garden beds to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as aerating soil, fertilizing plants, and applying pesticides following safety protocols
- Perform snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for pedestrians and vehicles
- Identify plants, pests, and diseases to ensure proper plant care and pest management strategies are implemented
- Follow safety procedures consistently while operating equipment and handling chemicals or pesticides
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment, power tools, and irrigation systems
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, tree care, and lawn care practices
- Ability to identify various plants, pests, and diseases relevant to horticulture practices
- Knowledge of pesticide management and safety protocol adherence for chemical applications
- Skilled in using hand tools such as pruners, shovels, rakes, and trimmers with precision
- Prior outdoor work experience demonstrating reliability in grounds maintenance roles
