We are currently seeking masters-level Clinical Outpatient Therapist Interns to join our team of professionals at several of our central Ohio/Columbus area office locations. Interns with field placement at SerenityBHS enjoy flexible work hours, generous training, and supervision support. Our agency provides Interns with office space, website advertisement, business cards, marketing materials, training, and excellent supervision.
- Qualifications:
All internship candidates must meet the minimum requirements set forth by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and the Ohio CSWMFT Board. Each candidate must be in their college masters-level program and have basic understandings of clinical counseling components, especially how to diagnose for mental health symptoms, how to build rapport with clients, how to write clinically accurate notes, and how to identify appropriate goals and objectives within a treatment plan format. All candidates must be able to communicate effectively with others and exhibit good organizational and computer-based software skills. - Certificates and Training:
Successful candidates must apply for and maintain a State License for Licensed Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker Trainee and receive their license prior to working with clients. A valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation are required.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Clinical outpatient therapist:
Provide weekly psychotherapy sessions to clients including individual and family counseling sessions. Provide services as outlined in the client’s individual treatment plan and ensure that all services are well documented within the EMR (Electronic Medical Records) client record. Complete mental health assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and termination of treatment documentation after the client has completed their services. Collect any co-pays as required by insurance, at the time of each session. - General responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with the client, the agency, and all client service providers. Greet clients and communicate to management any equipment issues or need for supplies. Confidentiality, do not disclose confidential information regarding a client without a signed, written release. Professionalism, conduct yourself professionally as a member of the inter-agency team and as a representative of Serenity Behavioral Health Services and adhere to the agency’s policies and practices.
Our Interns and Intern program are supervised by the our Clinical Director and/or Clinical Supervisor.
