Duties

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and planting to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for tasks such as edging, aerating, and installing landscape features
• Operate heavy machinery like excavators and snow plows to assist with construction projects or seasonal clean-up
• Install and maintain irrigation systems to promote optimal watering practices for diverse plantings
• Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and health assessments to ensure safety and vitality
• Carry out hardscape installations such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures
• Provide general gardening care by planting new greenery, mulching beds, and maintaining flower beds for year-round beauty

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and tools to troubleshoot issues quickly
• Experience with zero turn lawn mowers
• Experience with weed whackers
• Experience with lawn care routines including mowing, mulching, trimming, etc.
• Proficiency in landscape maintenance techniques for both softscape (plants) and hardscape features
• Skilled in using hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners) as well as power tools (trimmers, blowers) safely
• Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators or snow plows with proper certification if required
• Knowledge of horticulture principles to support healthy plant growth and landscape design
• Experience with irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting for efficient water management
• Capable of performing tree trimming and tree care activities to maintain safety standards
• Familiarity with construction practices related to outdoor projects involving hardscape elements
• Strong understanding of landscape maintenance schedules to ensure consistent quality throughout the seasons
