Position Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. This role serves as a bridge between staff accountants and senior leadership, providing both strategic insight and hands-on support in managing the company’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department (AP, AR, GL, payroll, and tax).
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual vs. budgeted results and analyze variances.
- Provide management with insights and recommendations to improve profitability.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls.
- Streamline accounting processes and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data for audits.
- Coordinate and support annual audits and tax filings.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
- Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff.
- Set goals, monitor performance, and conduct evaluations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and corporate accounting practices.
- Experience with accounting software, QuickBooks,.
