Sentry Living Solutions is hiring 8 compassionate and dependable caregivers, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), Personal Care Attendants (PCAs), and Caregivers to support an adult male with developmental disabilities in Union City.
We are seeking both male and female caregivers with experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, or behavioral challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about providing person-centered care and promoting independence. Provide support for activities of interest to the individual served, such as hiking, walking, reading together, playing games, listening to or making music, and participating in other community activities that encourage engagement, independence, and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities.
- Accompany the client on daily community outings and walks of 8 miles.
- Implement positive behavior support techniques and de-escalation strategies when needed.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, meal preparation, and community integration.
- Encourage independence while ensuring the client's safety and well-being.
- Complete daily documentation and shift notes accurately.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of caregiving, DSP, or personal attendant experience preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, or behavioral needs.
- Comfortable walking 8 or more miles during a shift.
- Patient, compassionate, dependable, and professional.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
