About the Unit:
The Outpatient Infusion Center at Obici sees mainly adult patients (30 patients a day). Occasional pediatrics but rare. Our infusion center provides chemo/biotherapy, immunotherapy, Sub Q Injections, central line care and labs, blood products, and hydration therapies. This is a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment.
The Infusion Nurse is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

- 1 weekend every 8 weeks and 1 holiday a year

Education: One of the Following
- RN-Associate’s Degree
- RN-Bachelor’s Degree
- RN-Diploma
- RN-Master’s Degree
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS within one (1) year of hire
- Chemo/Bio Certified within 6 months of hire. This course is online through ONS and the department will pay for this course.
- At least 3 years of clinical floor nursing experience on a medical oncology floor or infusion experience (Required)
