About the Unit:
The Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab program at Sentara Obici Hospital is an exciting, fast-paced and patient centered program. This department is a close-knit team dedicated to improving chronic disease management as well as outcomes for patients recovering from cardiac or pulmonary events or procedures. We currently have over 100 patients participating in the rehab program. This team focuses on conducting patient assessments, ECG monitoring, risk stratification, implementing individualized care plans, exercise monitoring, and documenting progress, outcomes, and interventions while also providing emotional support to our patients.
The Cardiac Rehab Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

- Hours can be 3 (12 hour shifts) or 4 (9 hour shifts)
- No Weekends, No Call, No Holidays

- RN-Associate’s Degree
- RN-Bachelor’s Degree
- RN-Diploma
- RN-Master’s Degree
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within one (1) year of hire
- At least 2 years of clinical floor nursing experience (Required)
- Cardiac, Telemetry, PCU, or ICU experience (Preferred)
