Overview:
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring a Flexi/PRN Echocardiographer in Woodbridge, VA! Ideal candidates will have one or more years of experience.
Hours: 8 hours per pay period minimum. Coverage for on call purposes.
About the department:
The Cath Lab at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is a 50-person team of monitor techs, cardiovascular invasive techs, registered nurses and patient care staff for additional support. The team sees a mix of inpatient and outpatient and an average of 10 procedures per day. Heart and Vascular has 3 labs for EP, Cardiac and IR at SNVMC. The Echocardiographer must live within a 30-minute drive of the hospital for call purposes.
The noninvasive Echocardiographer performs two-dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.

Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Associates or bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology preferred
- Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines.
- Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 90 days of hire
- Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS or RCS or RDCS) required within 12 months of hire.
- Echocardiography - 1-yr. exp highly preferred
- two dimensional echocardiograms
- Clinical Experience in an acute setting
- Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
- Communication with patients and providers
- knowledge on performing measurements of heart structures
- visualizing potentially critical findings
