Responsibilities
- Lead the shipping team and processes to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
- Coordinate packaging and shipping processes to meet daily shipment goals.
- Work with production teams to ensure proper packaging of products in line with company standards and customer expectations.
- Ensure the production and output of high-quality parts and services while maintaining adherence to company standards.
- Lead by example and foster a respectful and safe working environment.
- Conduct start-up meetings and participate in relevant events as needed.
- Play a key role in developing team members through continuous learning, coaching, and improvement initiatives.
- Promote and implement continuous improvement ideas across the team.
- Ensure daily adherence to lean manufacturing principles like 5S and waste elimination.
- Lead or actively participate in process improvement events and initiatives.
- Ensure that best practices are sustained, reviewed, and improved as necessary.
- Fill in for absent team members when required.
- Track and report daily attendance and other performance metrics.
- Coordinate and assist other team leaders as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Behaviors:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Positive attitude and ability to lead a team to achieve results.
- Process-oriented thinker with mastery of 5S, waste elimination, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, 5 whys).
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- In-depth knowledge of assigned product lines and processes.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to HMF Express' mission and values.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and others.
- 5S skills are strongly preferred.
- Safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection are mandatory on the shop floor.
- Gloves must be worn when handling heavy, sharp, or dangerous materials.
- Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Exposure to production shop conditions including moving mechanical equipment, fumes, heat, and cold.
- Must sit, walk, or stand for eight or more hours and lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
