HMF Express is looking for a proactive and experienced Shipping Team clerk to assist the shipping team and manage the processes that ensure on-time delivery of products to customer locations. The candidate will play a critical role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, while leading by example in maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shipping team and processes to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
• Coordinate packaging and shipping processes to meet daily shipment goals.
• Work with production teams to ensure proper packaging of products in line with company standards and customer expectations.
• Ensure the production and output of high-quality parts and services while maintaining adherence to company standards.
• Lead by example and foster a respectful and safe working environment.
• Conduct start-up meetings and participate in relevant events as needed.
• Play a key role in developing team members through continuous learning, coaching, and improvement initiatives.
• Promote and implement continuous improvement ideas across the team.
• Ensure daily adherence to lean manufacturing principles like 5S and waste elimination.
• Lead or actively participate in process improvement events and initiatives.
• Ensure that best practices are sustained, reviewed, and improved as necessary.
• Fill in for absent team members when required.
• Track and report daily attendance and other performance metrics.
• Coordinate and assist other team leaders as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements

Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Behaviors:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Positive attitude and ability to lead a team to achieve results.
• Process-oriented thinker with mastery of 5S, waste elimination, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, 5 whys).
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
• In-depth knowledge of assigned product lines and processes.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to HMF Express' mission and values.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and others.
  
  

Required Training & Safety Equipment:

• 5S skills are strongly preferred.
• Safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection are mandatory on the shop floor.
• Gloves must be worn when handling heavy, sharp, or dangerous materials.
• Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
• Exposure to production shop conditions including moving mechanical equipment, fumes, heat, and cold.
• Must sit, walk, or stand for eight or more hours and lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
