We’re looking for an experienced Manual Machinist who takes pride in doing things right the first time and enjoys working with traditional machine tools (this is not a CNC position).

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, mills and surface/cylindrical grinders
- Select tooling, speeds/feeds and coolant to hit tight tolerances
- Perform part set‑ups and run jobs independently with minimal supervision
- Fabricate, modify and repair mechanical components, jigs and fixtures
- Support occasional light assembly
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages and CMM (where applicable)
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T; collaborate with engineers to clarify function/fit and suggest improvements
- Maintain repeatable processes, troubleshoot issues and document work
- Perform routine machine care and uphold all safety and 5S standards
- High school diploma/GED required; technical training or Machine Tool Technology certificate preferred
- 2 years manual machining experience (5-7 years manual grinding strongly preferred)
- Experience with Studer cylindrical or Jones & Shipman surface grinders is a plus
- Strong shop math, blueprint reading and knowledge of speeds/feeds, cutting tools and grinding/turning procedures
- Familiarity with CMM, quality documentation and first‑article inspections
- Ability to stand ~90% of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs with required PPE
- Personal hand tools and measuring instruments for general machine‑shop work (specialty tools provided)
