We are seeking a mature, dependable female caregiver to assist a client with Parkinson’s disease and COPD. The client requires hands-on support with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities. This role is ideal for someone who is attentive, patient, and experienced in managing complex care needs, including oxygen use and catheter care.
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Location: San Jose, CA 96125
Client Needs & Condition:
- Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and COPD (uses oxygen)
- Has an indwelling catheter (urine bag must be emptied/changed every 2 hours)
- Uses a wheelchair, but requires assistance with walking to the toilet
- Requires help with bathing and personal hygiene
- Has a small dog (pet-friendly caregiver preferred)
- Severe allergy to cats (caregivers must NOT own cats)
Responsibilities:
- Assist with catheter care (monitoring and changing bag every 2 hours)
- Support with mobility, transfers, and walking assistance
- Provide bathing and personal care with dignity and safety
- Assist with meal preparation
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry and changing bed sheets
- Ensure proper oxygen use and safety
- Provide companionship and attentive support
Ideal Candidate:
- Female caregiver (client preference)
- Mature, patient, and physically able to assist with mobility
- Experience with Parkinson’s, COPD, and catheter care preferred
- Comfortable working around a small dog
- Must NOT own cats due to severe client allergy
- Preferred language: Tagalog or Vietnamese
- Reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented
