Senior Helpers is seeking a compassionate, dependable Live-In Caregiver for a hospice client in Little River, SC. This is a Monday 10:00 AM to Friday 10:00 AM live-in case, with a strong ASAP start needed.
The client is on hospice care and living with Alzheimer’s/dementia, requiring a caregiver who can provide calm companionship, safety supervision, structured support, and respectful redirection while helping her maintain independence and enjoyment in daily life.
This is a very family-guided case with specific care instructions to ensure safety, consistency, and appropriate support.
Schedule:
- Live-in: Monday 10:00 AM – Friday 10:00 AM
- Start of care: ASAP
- Consistent caregiver coverage required during this time block
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour supervision and companionship during live-in shift
- Support client in maintaining independence and daily routine
- Provide safe transportation for outings (especially breakfast/social activities)
- Assist with light mobility and fall prevention
- Encourage engagement in enjoyable activities (socializing, breakfast outings, etc.)
- Maintain a calm, structured, reassuring environment
Important Care Guidelines:
- CALL MSA HOSPICE FIRST for any emergencies: 843-293-4614
- Do NOT call 911 unless instructed otherwise by hospice
- Client is on hospice care and medication management is overseen by hospice
- Client has Alzheimer’s/dementia, ADHD, and dyslexia
- Client may repeat statements frequently and should be redirected gently
- Do not correct client regarding hospice identity; instead refer to care plan using “Dr. Uberty” as appropriate per family instruction
- Client is no longer driving
Lifestyle & Outings:
- Client enjoys going out for breakfast and socializing
- Outings should be kept reasonable (no more than once weekly for banking or similar errands)
- Caregiver should prioritize home-based meals and grocery-prepared food
- Caregiver must be comfortable transporting client to approved outings
- Caregiver is responsible for their own meal costs during outings
