Caregiving Services Advisor

People Helping People has been the foundation of Senior Friendship Centers for over 50 years, and we are growing! We are looking for a dynamic Caregiving Services Advisor! The Caregiving Services Advisor will oversee the operations of the Caregiver Resource Center (CRC) and provide expert guidance to caregivers in need of resources. Responsibilities include the development of caregiver resources, fostering community relationships, grant management and data entry, and promoting the Adult Day Services (ADS) program.

The Caregiving Services Advisor will be a compassionate individual with exceptional internal and external customer service skills. Interpersonal and great communication skills are required. The ability to competently use a computer and manage multiple tasks at a time is a must.

 

The mission of the Senior Friendship Centers is to build vibrant communities by advancing wellness, connection, and enrichment throughout the journey of aging. Older adults throughout Southwest Florida rely on Senior Friendship Centers for help with nutrition, adult day services, social engagement, help in times of crisis, and so much more. Senior Friendship Centers has been recognized as one of the top Sarasota County Non-profits.

Operational:

  • Oversees the Caregiver Resource Center (CRC). Responds to inquiries made to CRC. Provides caregivers with assistance and information regarding CRC activities, supporting organizations, and other community resources.
  • Promotes, schedules, and coordinates all ADS tours with ADS Managers.
  • Maintains documentation and data entry according to program guidelines.
  • Assists with program sustainability through budget preparation and monitoring, the development of new programs and assisting support group facilitator with documentation.
  • Oversees grant-funded activities including development of new initiatives, resource streams, effective monitoring, and delivery of caregiving services.
  • Enters and oversees the department's data, ensuring accurate entry and reporting.
  • Develops and distributes the CRC Newsletter.
  • Provides support to the Adult Day Services program; provides temporary floor coverage if needed.
  • Participates in targeted outreach activities and community events to support the ADS program and the organization's mission.
  • Responsible for volunteer recruitment, retention, and training within the CRC.

Organizational:

  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and seminars as required.
  • Report any incident of abuse or neglect as mandated by state guidelines
  • Must comply with HIPAA regulations and OSHA laws and safety guidlines.
  • Must comply with all Senior Friendship Centers personnel policies.
  • Must protect the safety and health of staff, volunteers, participants, and others by observing and following the organization's safety and incident policies.

Work Environment:

  • Work environment may vary between locations and include stairs, office space adaptation when traveling, and a moderate noise level.

Qualifications


Competencies:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills are required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer software.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to the needs of the organization.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all staff, clients, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Must be friendly, flexible, able to handle challenges, and able to work with limited supervision.

 

Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health or social services related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, ability, and skills to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Experience in the fields of human services and aging preferred.
  • Experience providing caregiving services and/or caregiver resources.
  • Knowledge of counseling strategies preferred.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to independently access various departments of a given location.

Travel:

  • Travel to both Sarasota and Venice locations will be required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • A valid driver's license and proof insurance are required for all work-related travel.

Additional eligibility requirements:

  • Satisfactory clearance of a fingerprint-based, level II background screening, tuberculous test, and pre-employment substance abuse testing is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
