Pay Rate: $184,000 - $285,000 annually, plus performance bonuses, company-paid training/certifications, and referral bonuses
Position Description
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer III to design and operate Kubernetes-based container platforms supporting mission-critical federal workloads. You will embed directly into a high-performing Agile delivery team operating at the highest levels of the federal government, contributing immediately with minimal ramp-up. This role is designated as essential personnel and may require availability during government shutdowns or other continuity-of-operations scenarios.
What You Will Do
Design, build, and operate Kubernetes and OpenShift container orchestration platforms in mission-critical enterprise environments
Maintain and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, container build processes, and infrastructure automation
Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, and security across containerized workloads
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents in real time
Participate actively in Agile planning, sprint execution, and continuous improvement ceremonies
Communicate platform status, risks, and technical decisions clearly to government stakeholders
Apply engineering judgment and creativity to deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions
Establish and sustain a high level of trust with federal clients through technical expertise and professional execution
Required Skills/Education
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility - required
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) - required
HashiCorp Terraform Associate - required
DoD 8140 / DoD 8570 certification aligned to the 451 System Administrator work role (Security , Cloud , SSCP, CASP , or CISSP) - required
6 years of experience in systems or DevOps engineering
3 years of hands-on Kubernetes and container technologies experience
Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tooling: Rancher, Helm, Docker, Cilium, Rook, Ceph, MinIO, S3, PortWorx
Operational experience with CI/CD pipeline management and infrastructure-as-code automation
Experience ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of containerized environments in enterprise or mission-critical settings
Experience leading or contributing to design and implementation of complex integrated container platforms
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience accepted
