Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the Epic Beacon application in a large healthcare setting.
- Troubleshoot application issues, submit vendor service requests, and lead correction efforts.
- Collaborate with clinical, pharmacy, and IT teams to understand workflows and optimize system functionality.
- Develop and document solutions, provide end-user training, and support system upgrades.
- Serve as the primary IT liaison, coordinating technical requests and ensuring project timelines are met.
- Research emerging healthcare technology trends and assess their applicability to optimize workflows.
- Lead and mentor team members; develop team competencies and documentation.
- Participate in special projects, workshops, and application interest groups, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of direct experience with IT applications in healthcare.
- Epic Beacon certification required.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Deep understanding of the system development life cycle and application configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Knowledge of pharmacy systems and infusion scheduling experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, computer science, health informatics, or related field.
- Experience supporting and training EHR systems, particularly Epic modules.
