Position Description
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a government client in Tallahassee, FL. The ideal candidate is a PMP-certified professional with deep expertise in project management methodologies, business analysis, and IT procurement practices. This role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on delivery, managing large and cross-functional IT projects in compliance with State of Florida processes, including Rule 60GG (1–5), F.A.C.
This is an onsite role requiring strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple large-scale projects while ensuring compliance, budget control, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multiple large-scale IT projects concurrently, ensuring alignment with state and departmental policies.
- Manage project schedules, status tracking, reporting, and deliverables as required by the Florida Digital Service (FLDS) and Department standards.
- Ensure compliance with Chapter 60GG-1 F.A.C. reporting and documentation requirements.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and variances; prepare and reconcile legislative budget requests.
- Collaborate with project teams and vendors to resolve conflicts, track milestones, and maintain critical path schedules.
- Serve in a dual capacity as Project Manager and Business Analyst when needed, including requirements gathering, process documentation, and workflow analysis.
- Apply change management, risk management, and resource management practices to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Deliver clear, concise communications to leadership, stakeholders, and large groups.
Required Skills & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (PMI) – required.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in project management, business administration, or IT.
- Strong knowledge of PMBOK methodologies, Agile project management, and oversight practices.
- Hands-on experience with state procurement processes (RFP, RFQ, ITB, ITN, Single Source).
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience compiling legislative budget requests.
- Familiarity with construction scheduling processes and customer program management.
- Strong public speaking and training skills.
- Ability to perform QA reviews and validate compliance with state documentation standards.
