Shift: 1st Shift, Mon – Thursday: 7:00am – 5:30 pm (4-10’s) on call as needed.

Position Description:
Seeking an experienced Electrician to join a dynamic maintenance team supporting a prominent facility in Suffolk, VA. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex electrical systems, troubleshoot issues, and perform vital repairs in a professional environment. The Electrician will report directly to the Site Supervisor and contribute to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in facility operations.
Key responsibilities include managing electrical maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting electrical systems, conducting lighting and equipment repairs, monitoring building automation, and assisting with general maintenance tasks such as plumbing and emergency systems. Candidate should have strong communication skills, customer service orientation, and a solid understanding of electrical systems in large facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with site management and team members to identify and address service needs
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors during onsite work
- Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs up to 600V, including lighting and circuit issues
- Monitor and adjust building automation systems
- Respond promptly to electrical failures and alarms
- Assist other skilled trades and team members in completing various maintenance projects
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and reports
- Support general site maintenance, including emergency systems and plumbing as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within facilities or industrial environments
- Valid US driver’s license
- Ability to obtain security clearance (active clearance preferred)
- Apprentice Electrical License or higher
- NFPA 70E safety certification (training preferred)
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), three-phase electrical systems, and test equipment for relays, circuit breakers, and infrared scanning
- Experience with high-voltage switchgear and PLC programming (a plus)
- Strong diagnostic skills, technical aptitude, and safety awareness
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
