Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Debit Card Dispute Analyst to join our team. This role involves reviewing, processing, and resolving debit card dispute claims while ensuring compliance with Visa/Mastercard regulations and internal policies.
The ideal candidate will have experience in chargebacks, transaction investigations, and financial operations within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, investigate, and resolve debit card dispute cases
- Process chargebacks, arbitration, and compliance cases through Visa/Mastercard
- Analyze transactions and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Communicate with financial institutions, merchants, and internal teams
- Respond to escalated inquiries from customer service and branch teams
- Maintain accurate case documentation and track progress
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies
- Handle provisional credits and account adjustments
- Perform general ledger entries related to dispute cases
- Work with internal systems and databases to research and resolve cases
- Assist in training and supporting junior team members
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in banking operations, dispute resolution, or chargebacks
- Strong knowledge of debit card disputes, Visa/Mastercard regulations, and chargeback processes
- Experience in transaction processing, financial analysis, or fraud/dispute investigations
- Ability to analyze data and make sound decisions
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in using multiple systems and tools simultaneously
- Good communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in credit unions or banking institutions
- Exposure to compliance, auditing, or financial regulations
- Familiarity with case management and dispute processing systems
