Role Description:
This position is a full-time, year-round, on-site role located in Romulus, NY, for a Resort Accountant/Bookkeeper. The position is responsible for accounting duties as well as assisting with resort operations. This position reports to the General Manager with oversight from the Director of Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the central point of contact for all resort financial responsibilities.
Perform all accounting functions, including but not limited to, daily cash drawer counting, deposits, and reconciliation, daily monitoring and monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts, and daily transactional journal entries.
Manage accounts payable, specifically, compile, process and maintain accounts payable records and account reconciliations, verify approval of all invoices and check requests, timely payment of A/P Aging invoices and weekly analysis of A/P aging, reconcile vendor statements, and reconcile credit card statements.
Manage accounts receivable, specifically, create and oversee the processing of billings, adjustments, cash application, and check deposits in CampSpot software, collect past due accounts and facilitate actions for resolution in coordination with management team, and complete accounts receivable related accruals, journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
Manage the administration of all human resource functions, including but not limited to, processing new employee paperwork, maintaining all employee records and ensuring resort compliance with all human resource related documents.
Perform all payroll functions, specifically, setting up and training employees, reviewing timecard entries for accuracy and processing payroll. and maintain employee records.
Manage the ordering and receiving for resort supplies by sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, placing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery to meet operational needs.
Oversee seasonal RV, both marina and winter storage reservations, including communications, contracts and payments.
Complete daily/weekly/monthly paperwork and/or reporting in a timely manner.
Participate in management meetings.
Communicate any issues/concerns to the General Manager.
Follow and enforce all company policies and established procedures.
Assist the General Manager with special projects.
May be asked to perform other duties and/or assist in other departments when needed and assigned by the General Manager.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting. (required)
Human Resources experience: 1 year (preferred)
Excellent customer service with strong ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and any other stakeholders.
Detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
Inventory management, tracking and data analysis experience required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Quick Books; knowledgeable with point of sale and/or inventory systems.
High standards for accuracy, organization, and flexibility.
Ability to anticipate and solve problems/resolve issues in a timely manner.
Ability to work as part of a team to promote and achieve established goals.
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to stand, sit, walk on uneven surfaces, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers. This position requires light to moderate (frequently up to 25 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.) lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, etc.
