Position Title: Return to Base Technician I (Tool Repair Technician)
Responsible to: Tool Manager
Scope: Performs tool repairs under the supervision of the department manager
Basic Function: RTB supports the company through various duties, including, but not limited to making product inventory available, repairing, and making modifications to product.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Under the supervisor’s direction, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test tools.
- Prepare and complete source documents for labor and inventory transactions.
- Follow step-by-step instructions to complete department tasks promptly.
- Communicate trends or repeated quality issues.
- Complete any other job responsibilities.
- Have flexibility to work in all Tool Department areas.
Qualifications:
- Able to effectively communicate with co-workers, industrial account managers, product managers, engineers, and quality technicians.
- Use of lift and hand trucks; training provided if needed.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent.
Requirements:
- Basic computer knowledge is required- efficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to stand for 100%, lift, and bend for 40% of your entire shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.; lift is provided.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and presses daily.
- Must be able to use both hands to diagnose and repair products.
- Must have 1-2 years of mechanical experience.
- Must be able to use precision measuring instruments.
- Must be able to meet the daily production quota.
- Must be able to stay on task with minimum supervision.
- Depending on company needs, you must be able to work overtime and weekends when asked.
- Requires a high degree of mental concentration.
- Requires a high level of attention to detail.
- Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
