Job Description

Primary Purpose

The Senior Manager, ERP Technology & Analytics plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the enterprise-wide ERP strategy, ensuring seamless integration across business functions and systems. This leader is responsible for the technical oversight of ERP platforms, including architecture, configuration, data integrity, and system performance. They will drive innovation in ERP technology, lead integration efforts with adjacent systems (e.g., CRM, HRIS, SCM), and ensure the ERP landscape supports scalable, secure, and efficient business operations.

This role requires deep technical expertise in ERP systems (such as RISE with SAP), middleware integration tools, and cloud-based infrastructure. The Senior Manager will oversee system interfaces, API management, data migration strategies, and ensure alignment with cybersecurity and compliance standards. Additionally, they will lead the development of analytics frameworks that leverage ERP data to deliver actionable insights, optimize workflows, and support strategic decision-making.

In addition to technical oversight, the Senior Manager leads a high-performing team of ERP specialists, integration engineers, and data analysts. Candidate should have experience overseeing both full time, contract and offshore team members, setting priorities, allocating resources, ensuring delivery against ERP CoE department goals/objectives, meeting commitments, and coordinating overall activities schedule alignment. They are accountable for mentoring and developing talent, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality solutions that support operational excellence.

Duties And Responsibilities

Value Delivery, Strategy, and Planning

  • Responsible for application development, support, and maintenance for the SAP Solutions portfolio including subscriptions products like BTP, Concur, Ariba, etc.
  • Main responsible for maintaining the landscape updated according to providers policies and company standards.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop new solutions and enhancements to drive business objectives and outcomes.
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize delivery of new solutions and enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to deliver business value through standardization, business process improvement, organizational change and/or technology integration.
  • Analyze project risks, technical debt, and benefits to make appropriate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Identify emerging technologies and tools to support Business and IT roadmaps.
  • Responsible for adherence to system development lifecycle.
  • Responsible for functional area budget for both personal and non-personnel costs.
  • Responsible for the delivering solutions within the defined project, program or product budget.
  • Accountable for vendor management and services management to support SAP landscape.

Delivery & Execution

  • Drive cross-functional teaming to deliver projects and products to the organization.
  • Provide technical expertise to delivery teams, provide thought leadership, and solutions to solve complex problems.
  • Review of new architectural and development frameworks in collaboration with appropriate Sempra governance bodies.
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross- functional area teams, prioritizing, and coordinating projects and activities.
  • Assist in researching, reviewing, and recommending new enterprise solutions based on capability and business need.
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting to Change Advisory Board for new and enhanced solution deployments.
  • Accountable for end-to-end delivery of all projects and activities within the functional area
  • Provide technical expertise to delivery teams, provide thought leadership, and solution to solve complex, often cross-functional, problems.
  • Accountable for ensuring all projects and activities within the functional area meet compliance and architecture standards.
  • Provide oversight and ownership for functional area solutions and artifacts.
  • Advocate for re-use through implementation of shared technology assets.
  • Responsible for IT General Controls design, testing and execution including the evidence generation to comply with ITGC control tracking, for all systems and technical solutions under area scope.
  • Accountable for delivering information and evidence required by audit, SOX, risk, cybersecurity, or any other regulatory entity.
  • Main responsible for solving audit findings and vulnerabilities for all the system and technical solution under area scope.
  • Primary point of contact and liaison with SAP account manager and SAP support teams.

  • Coach and mentor team members and enable individual development, training and performance goals.
  • Work with cross-functional IT and enterprise teams to build alignment and model high performing team behaviors.
  • Responsible and accountable for functional area leadership, collaboration, and conflict resolution Provide direction, motivation, and strategic oversight of the functional area.
  • Responsible and accountable for select aspects of performance management, training, and development.
  • Provide guidance on maintaining work/life balance, including 1-on-1’s, career development, and roadmap activities, to ensure that employees receive effective feedback and development opportunities.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant work experience Required
  • Master's Degree in the above, or MBA Preferred

Experience

  • 10 years Managing solution delivery and/or enterprise architecture Required
  • 10 years ERP systems management, with at least 3 years in a technology leadership role. Required
  • 8 years Related supervisory and/or lead experience. Required
  • 3 years Experience working with in the energy sector or with a utility. Required
  • 7 years Managing solution delivery and/or enterprise architecture Required

Skills And Abilities

  • Deep understanding in SAP S4/Hana standard modules: FI CO, SD, MM, WM PM, BPC, GRC, EHS, BW and SAP subscription solutions: Concur, ARIBA, SAC and integrations associated including local and on cloud interfacing.
  • Extensive experience conducting SAP development and maintenance areas, including ABAP and Java development and BASIS support, including changes and functionality promotion across SAP landscape.
  • Proven experience managing and interacting with SAP support areas, setting-up and tracking support tickets, familiar with scalation process for SAP S4/Hana and subscription products.
  • Ability collaborating in Business Requirements development and generating the technical specifications associated.
  • Proven vendor management skills and negotiation, managing priorities, ensuring project deliveries, quality and SLA’s compliance.
  • Experience supporting project execution under waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Strong understanding on testing process, inputs required and expected outcomes.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements in Mexico and USA.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in the functional area with ability to communicate complex technical details to non-technical business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Outstanding management, interpersonal, communication, organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities, exceptional skills to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change as well as dealing efficient deal with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure e.g. to restore services.
  • An overall understanding of the business objectives of service lines and Core Business Services departments.

People Leadership

  • Demonstrated skills to manage a diverse technical workforce spread across multiple locations involving the full range of technology platforms and solutions as well as vendor personnel.
  • Ability to lead, manage and coach staff; Personal drive and energy level to achieve superior results individually and through others; Proven track record of successful team leadership and development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Ability to participate in co-operative working relationships including knowledge sharing and partnership in achieving solutions within and across business or operational functions.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Standard certifications in SAP modules and products (e.g. FI, CO, PS, SD, PM, MM, WM, BPC, GRC, Concur, Ariba, etc) Required
  • Experience in SAP RISE Preferred
