The Seminole Tribe of Florida's Public Works Department is responsible for providing a variety of services to the residents of The Seminole Tribe. The Department’s main functions are to administer and manage the construction, operation, and maintenance of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s infrastructure for roads, water and wastewater distribution and collection systems, facilities, and sanitation services to meet existing and future needs of the Tribal Council and Community. The position is located on the Brighton Reservation.
Position Summary
This is a semi-skilled position located in the STOF Public Works Department. The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in all phases of Transfer Station Operations, including but not limited to, safely conduct weekly household trash pickup, recycling, hazardous waste and bulk curbside collection; assisting with preparing daily transfer station operations logs and reports; performing maintenance tasks in order to ensure that the Transfer Station Complex and Fleet complies with all procedures and guidelines in order to guarantee a safe, secure and constant operation. High School diploma or equivalent GED required. Experience working in a Transfer Station or related setting required. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for hauling.
Qualifications / Requirements
Must have knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to Transfer Stations. Ability to perform task with minimal supervision and direction from management. Ability to direct, operate and make maintenance repairs in all phases of the Transfer Station. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be on call 24 hours a day. Must be willing to work before, during and after a declared emergency.
