What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Relations Specialist position at Seminole Tribe of Florida?
The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department and the Employee Relation Unit with daily employee relations activities that may include providing employee consultations, dispute mediation, conflict resolution, performance management guidance, offboarding staff, and assistance on complex and/or controversial employee performance and conduct-related issues. The individual prepares written correspondence, records of incidents, investigative notes, disciplinary actions, and other relevant documentation. This role reviews case files to ensure compliance with the established Employee Relations/STOF HR policies and procedures and prepares and/or assists in the preparation of final reports.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred. Certifications in the Human Resources field such as PHR/SHRM CP are preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of employee relations specialized experience (must include applying employee relations concepts, principles, practices; researching, analyzing and documenting administrative decisions), or closely related work experience, is required. Prior supervisory experience and/or experience separating or offboarding employees is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to effectively multitask and meet deadlines. Demonstrate ethical conduct and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Able to travel to all STOF reservations/locations and work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
