QUALIIFICATIONS: Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
REPORTS TO: Principal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of the receptionist/secretary of a school are such as those in the list below, but they may be increased, decreased, and otherwise modified
- Assists bookkeeper in maintaining books on all school accounts according to Board of Education policy
- Receptionist for the school, answers telephone, takes and delivers messages, etc.
- Provides secretarial services in the absence of the school secretary
- Assists in maintenance of student permanent records
- Disperses and records the dispensing of medication to students in nurses absence
- Assists in processing transcript requests
- Duplicates and distributes information to the faculty and staff
- Assists in maintenance of school data reporting system
- Keeps the school office neat and clean
- Maintains sign-in and sign-out procedures for students
- Obtains assignments for students, parents, and administrators as needed
- Maintains daily attendance records for students
- Exhibits courtesy and a professional attitude
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism regarding students and school system affairs
- Works effectively and cooperatively with administrators, teachers, and staff
- Performs all duties in a timely and effective manner
- Effective oral and written communications
- Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities
- Complies with state and local laws and policies, including faculty/staff handbooks
- Performance will be evaluated annually
- Performs all other duties as requested by the principal
