Semersky Enterprises, Inc. DBA Audi Exchange St. Charles looking to add an Apprentice Technician to our excellent team of professionals. This is a hourly position, with pay starting at $18.00/hour with opportunities for merit based increases, ultimately leading to a journeyman technician role.

The role of the Apprentice is to complete all work assigned by the supervisor, while working alongside a skilled technician. The Apprentice reports directly to the service manager and is required to learn all the necessary skills to advance to a technician role. The incumbent for this position must adhere to the company’s mission and values while producing high quality work with the motto “Fix it Right the First Time”. The Apprentice will be responsible for ensuring that the workstations are stocked with necessary materials and supplies. S/He will be responsible for ensuring that safety inspections are completed according to company standards and Audi of America standards. The incumbent will possess the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Additionally, s/he will possess the ability to write simple correspondence and demonstrate the ability to present information effectively. The Apprentice will need to be able to compute simple math problems consisting of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The individual in this role will be expected to demonstrate reasoning ability and critical thinking to solve problems.

Task Statements

• Works alongside an assigned technician to learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenance and repairs.
• Assists assigned technician as needed.
• Delivers customer cars to service stalls as requested by technicians.
• Picks up parts from the parts department as directed by technicians.
• Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
• Replenishes supplies as requested by technicians or service manager.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Attends training classes and departmental meetings.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be 21 years of age, with a clean driving record
• Experience working in the automotive industry or experience in vocational or trade school preferred.
• Basic understanding of technology and its use within the vehicles
• Self-Starter and intrinsically motivated.

Salary : $18 - $20
