Position Summary:
Sellenriek Construction is hiring an Equipment Operator to support underground utility construction projects. This position operates equipment including vac trucks, mini excavators, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, excavators, and other construction equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate vac trucks, mini excavators, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, excavators, and other equipment
- Dig, trench, backfill, pothole, and expose existing utilities
- Load and unload equipment from trailers
- Read utility maps, prints, and job layouts
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements
- Assist with general field work as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of heavy equipment experience, preferably in underground utility construction
- Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate at least one of the following: vac truck, mini excavator, backhoe, trencher, skid steer, or excavator
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical construction work and lift up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- OSHA 10 preferred
This is a hands-on field position with overtime and occasional weekend work based on project needs.
