Royal Energy Care Team is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Personal Care Assistant to provide in-home support within a consumer-directed care model. In this role, the client serves as the employer of record and directs their own plan of care, in accordance with Self-Directed Support (SDS) program guidelines.
Candidates must reside within a 30-minute commute of the South Kansas City area, including Raytown, Grandview, Hickman Mills, and Martin City. Applications from outside this radius will not be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene and mobility support, such as transfers
- Accompany the client to college coursework, including in-class support, note-taking assistance, and typing support for assignments and correspondence
- Provide technology support across mobile devices, applications, and digital platforms, including content organization for professional/creative projects
- Adhere to the client's individualized, person-centered care plan and follow directives from the client as employer
- Report and resolve day-to-day concerns directly with the client, consistent with the self-directed care model
- Maintain professional boundaries that support client autonomy and self-determination
- Maintain punctuality and complete assigned shifts in full
- Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate schedule changes as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of caregiving or direct support experience
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a federal background check administered through the fiscal management services (FMS) provider
- Applicants should have the following documentation available at the time of application to support onboarding and payroll processing: Social Security card, and either a U.S. passport, passport card, or valid citizenship/identification document
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with mobile applications, cloud-based tools, and social media platforms
- Strong written communication and typing skills
- Prior experience in a consumer-directed or in-home care setting
