What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist/Programmer position at SELECTWO MACHINE COMPANY INC?
Job Overview
Our shop is an AS9100D-certified precision CNC machine shop in central Florida's playground, making parts for aerospace, aviation and defense. We're a small, growing team, and we're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to own Fusion 360 programming for our 8 CNC machines, including mills, lathes with live tooling and multi-axis capability and a Swiss turning lathe.
Programming and set up are the core of this job, but you will run production as well. You'll work closely with our machinists and operators, prove out and refine your programs on the floor, and help shape how the shop runs as we grow.
What you'll do
Programming: create, edit and optimize Fusion 360 programs for our mills and lathes, including live tooling and multi-axis setups.
Toolpaths: Design efficient tool paths that balance cycle time, tool life and part quality.
Setup packages: prepare tool lists, work offsets, fixture instructions and setup sheets.
Prove out jobs: verify programs in simulation and support first article inspection.
Program library: keep it organized and revision-controlled, so the floor always runs the latest version.
Work with the team: plan new jobs and programming priorities with production, mentor our machinists and operators, and turn their feedback into better programs.
Working with the estimating and production management: support quotes with cycle time estimates, tooling and fixturing plans and manufacturability input, and find ways to cut cycle times and setups.
Quality: work within our AS9100D quality system: documentation, traceability, revision control and first article.
What you bring
5 years programming CNC mills and lathes.
Strong, hands-on Fusion 360 CAM skills, including live tooling and multi-axis.
Experience in an AS9100D or other aerospace or defense shop.
A track record of cutting cycle times and making programs reliable.
Clear, friendly communication with our setup machinists, operators and the rest of the team.
Nice to have
Hands-on machining and setup experience.
Keeping multiple machines running during nonprogramming or setup times.
Cost estimating or quoting experience.
Comfortable with GD&T and inspection equipment.
Working with great people, as business grows, we are willing to invest in new machines, a clean, climate-controlled shop, meaningful aerospace and defense work, and real room to grow with the company.
Pay, schedule and benefits
Pay: is dependent on experience.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, on-site.
Benefits: Paid time off, plus more benefits planned as we grow.
Ready to own the programming? Apply with your resume and a few lines about parts you've programmed, especially multi-axis or live-tool work.
We are an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to disability or protected veteran status.
