Produce Production & Sales Manager

Job Overview

SELECT7 is looking for a dependable and motivated Production & Sales Manager to oversee our daily produce production operations while helping grow and maintain our customer relationships and sales.

This position combines hands-on production management with sales responsibilities. The manager will supervise production employees, ensure fresh, precut produce is prepared safely and efficiently, maintain product quality, and make sure daily orders are completed on time. They will also communicate with customers, understand their needs, manage orders, and help develop new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and organized leader who can work in a fast-paced food production environment and is comfortable balancing day-to-day operations with customer service and sales.

Responsibilities for Production & Operations

• Oversee daily production of fresh-cut and packaged vegetables.
• Supervise, train, and support production employees.
• Assign daily tasks and ensure production orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, portioning, packaging, and labeling.
• Package prepared produce into boxes and ensure all products are correctly labeled and prepared for delivery.
• Ensure employees follow established production procedures and company standards.
• Help improve production efficiency and identify ways to reduce waste.
• Monitor the proper handling, storage, and preparation of fresh produce.
• Ensure production areas, equipment, and work surfaces are properly cleaned and maintained.
• Enforce food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene procedures.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining HACCP, GMP, and other food safety requirements.
• Communicate production issues, product concerns, and supply needs to management.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer orders are fulfilled correctly and on time.

Responsibilities Sales & Customer Relations

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Communicate with customers regarding products, orders, pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve product or order concerns professionally.
• Identify opportunities to introduce SELECT7 products to new customers.
• Help develop new business and increase sales of precut produce.
• Follow up with prospective and existing customers regarding orders and opportunities.
• Understand customer needs and work with the production team to ensure products meet their specifications.
• Prepare or communicate pricing and product information as needed.
• Monitor customer feedback and communicate important information to the production team.

Team Management

• Lead by example and maintain a professional, respectful workplace.
• Train employees on production procedures, food safety, sanitation, and proper equipment use.
• Monitor employee performance and provide guidance when needed.
• Help maintain appropriate staffing and production schedules.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.

Experience/Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Experience in food production, produce, food service, grocery, or a related industry is a plus.
• Sales or customer service experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working hands-on in a food production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and food safety.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees.
• Spanish/Japanese a plus.
• Previous experience with HACCP, GMP, or food safety programs is a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
