Maintenance Helper

Position Overview:

This role is to keep the buildings and grounds clean and neat via lawn mowing and snow removal, in a safe manner that meets company standards. Making pick-ups and deliveries for the company. And assisting the maintenance department with any tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Landscaping (mowing lawn, weeds, etc.)

· Snow removal (Plowing & Shoveling) 5:00 am start on snow days))

· Empty all shop garbage, cardboard hoppers, & collect soiled rags

· Cleaning the shop floor with the floor scrubber as scheduled

· Completing basic maintenance on forklifts and the floor scrubber

· Inspect company vehicles for cleanliness

· Clean lunchroom (trash cans and table) & review lunchroom supplies

· Fill vending machine & monitor supply inventory

· Make deliveries and pick-ups for the company

· Assist with custodial tasks as needed

· Replacement of HVAC filters & monitor inventory

· Inspect waste fluid & water softener levels

· Facilitate the construction of shipping containers

· Facilitate with any tasks within the maintenance department as needed

Skills and Competencies:

· Must maintain a valid and insurable driver’s license/record

· Attention to detail with good communication skills

· Comfortable being trained to use forklifts and scissors lifts

· Comfortable using woodworking tools (Miter saw, Skill saw, & Table saw)

Qualifications:

Education HS diploma or GED

Experience and/or Training Previous factory experience w/use of power tools and material handling equipment.

Licenses/Certificates Valid & insurable driver’s license required

Technology/Equipment Familiar with forklifts and scissors lifts

Physical and Mental Demands:

Intermittent (less than 15%), Occasional (15-45%), Frequent (50-75%), and Continuous (over 75%)

The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

· Frequent lifting items over 45 lbs. to chest height

· Ability to change tasks with little notice

· Has reliable transportation and can adjust work hours as needed

Working Environment:

· This position will require a person to be able to adapt to and work within the seasonal weather changes Wisconsin is known for.

· The individual will help the maintenance team support the various needs that arise within the facility and production processes.

· Working in manufacturing areas where exposure to loud machinery, moving equipment, and varying temperatures (hot or cold) may occur

· Adherence to safety protocols when working in production areas with use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes is required in production areas

· Adherence to other companies safety protocols during deliveries and pick-ups

· Noise levels range from low in office settings to moderate or high in manufacturing zones, depending on operations underway

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
