Responsible for sampling and testing raw meat, conducting inspections of food processing plant, and ensuring compliance with USDA and Company Requirements. Description of Position Take on the responsibilities and goals of the QA department. Conduct inspections of product, processing equipment and facility. Sample product for testing purposes. Test samples for quality and microbiological characteristics, to include plating, reading plates, recording plate counts, and pathogen testing using PCR technology. Document results with complete and accurate information for all duties completed. Communicate with personnel from all departments including management and inspection agency personnel. Other duties as assigned. Tasks and Responsibilities Education/Training: Degree in Food Science / Microbiology or related field preferred. Licenses/Certifications: JHA (within 30 days) Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification (within 3 months). Experience: 1-3 years Food Microbiology or Food Processing Quality Assurance Laboratory experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills: Meets performance standard of current job and Manager recommendation preferred. Computer and Math skills preferred.
