Job Title : Survey Technician
Location : Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 12 months on W2 (High possibility of extension)

The contractor will serve as a Survey Crew Chief responsible for performing land survey work supporting distribution electric, gas, electric transmission, and substation projects. Responsibilities include conducting topographic surveys, construction surveys, and other land surveying activities using company-provided GPS, laser scanning, and survey equipment across multiple project locations.
What does a typical day look like?
The individual receives assignments from the office survey group, travels to project sites, and independently performs field survey work. Most of the day is spent in the field with limited office time. Travel to various project locations is common.
What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.) required?
The ideal candidate has approximately 10 years of land surveying experience. However, candidates with 4 to 5 years of solid, relevant experience will also be considered. The hiring manager is open to both less experienced candidates with growth potential and highly experienced professionals.
Are there any pre-screening questions, such as candidate s previous experience, education, etc., that you would like suppliers to ask of candidates upon submission?
Will this position require travel? How often? Where? Is this reimbursable? How? Yes. Regular travel is required throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Upper Michigan, and surrounding areas. Overnight travel may occur one to two nights per week depending on project assignments. Client will provide a company vehicle and required equipment.
When do you plan to conduct interviews? Could you provide specific dates or time blocks for interviews to help candidates and suppliers plan accordingly?
