Quality Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of materials and products in accordance with established quality standards and specifications. This role will focus on material inspection, quality control, shipment release, documentation, and resolution of non-conforming materials.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, hands-on material inspection experience, and knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform material and product inspections to ensure compliance with established quality specifications and requirements.
• Inspect materials at manufacturing locations and determine whether shipments meet quality requirements for release.
• Review and verify quality assurance and quality control specifications.
• Document inspection results, including photos, measurements, shipment information, and other quality data.
• Identify and document defects, quality issues, and non-conforming materials.
• Investigate rejected shipments and participate in problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Work with relevant teams to determine and implement appropriate corrective actions for quality issues.
• Monitor quality activities and identify opportunities to improve quality processes and effectiveness.
• Develop, evaluate, and implement quality procedures and inspection methods as needed.
• Maintain accurate quality records and documentation related to inspections and shipments.
• Support continuous improvement activities to reduce defects and improve overall product quality.
• Ensure quality requirements are consistently met to support customer satisfaction and operational requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience in quality inspection, quality assurance, quality control, or manufacturing quality.
• Hands-on experience with material inspection.
• Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to identify defects and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with inspection of sheet metal components or fabricated materials.
• Knowledge of dimensional inspection and measurement tools.
• Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Familiarity with quality methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, or CAPA.
• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing teams on quality-related issues.
