The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying, developing, and capturing new business opportunities in the SBIR/STTR arena. This role requires previous experience in the SBIR (Phases I, II, and II) contracting space. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a proven ability to secure and sustain client relationships within the public sector both FedCiv and DoD markets.

Responsibilities
- Develop market strategies and establish a supporting qualified pipeline, create and track schedules, and report progress to Growth Director
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate opportunity and customer information within the enterprise CRM/Pipeline systems.
- Effectively conveys our message in both written and verbal business development discussions.
- Develop external relationships with current and future government customers and industry partners through strategic outreach and communication plans.
- Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations; regularly attend client meetings, trade shows, conferences, etc.
- Build strong relationships with government clients, teaming partners, and other stakeholders to influence opportunity requirements and positioning.
- Assist in the development of high-quality proposals, including writing, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with RFP requirements.
- Liaison with current Contracting Officers; assist with communication flow, resolve issues, identify needs and translate Government goals.
- Up to 20% Travel
- 5 years proven experience in Federal business development, sales, or related roles
- Specific experience with SBIR/STTR contract vehicles and moving from Phase I to phase III which involves commercializing the innovation developed during Phase I and II,
- In-depth knowledge of government contracting processes, including RFPs, RFQs, IDIQ & BPA contracts, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for tracking leads and managing pipelines.
- Strong command of productivity tools like Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Cursory understanding of Data Analytics and Mining of Structured and Unstructured Data
