Job Summary:
Are you an experienced industrial maintenance technician with a strong background in mechanical, electrical and control systems, as well as having a passion for maintaining and improving machinery with a focus oriented, keen aptitude and knack for problem-solving? If so, we invite you to join our team as an Industrial Maintenance Technician and play a crucial role in keeping our operations running smoothly.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform standard mechanical and electrical duties in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical malfunctions.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance inspections and services on machines with precision, including mechanical, electrical components and control systems.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and facilities, with an emphasis on root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills on mechanical, electrical and controls issues.
- Lead and execute equipment change-overs on rewinders, wrappers, and case packers, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Conduct equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance with a focus on predictive maintenance issues.
- Maintain and repair plant equipment and facilities to assure continuation of production, with a focus on mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- Utilize knowledge of industrial computerized controls, variable speed drives, level sensors, and other electrical components.
- Oil and lubricate moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Record and report damaged, worn, or broken electrical and mechanical parts, facilitating timely repairs.
- Provide details to the Maintenance Manager on parts to order and install replacement parts for machines and facility ensuring minimal interruption to production activities, this will include mechanical and electrical components.
- Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines with a focus on root cause to minimize repeat failures, with an emphasis on mechanical, electrical and control issues.
- Execute quick and efficient repairs on down machines to restore operations swiftly.
- Prepare reports documenting all work performed ensuring transparency and accountability, highlighting all maintenance and repairs as well as parts utilized to conduct the repairs.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines and facility, ensuring uninterrupted machine performance.
- Make necessary modifications and implement test runs; confer with managers regarding test results and make additional alterations or adjustments to machinery as required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the maintenance team.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician working in facilities maintenance, equipment maintenance or project management.
- Exceptional mechanical and electrical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills, enabling you to tackle complex mechanical and/or electrical and control system issues with ease.
- Work safely, wear required PPE, model LOTO and all related safety behaviors.
- Formally trained in tasks such as bearing removal/replacement, failure root cause analysis, part alignment, cause and effect, rigging, and analytical troubleshooting.
- Able to pass a Mechanical Reasoning, Electrical Knowledge and Aptitude Assessment.
- Have own tools.
- Qualified on basic shop equipment.
- Qualified on Forklift and Scissor lift.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude inclined with great problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use all hand tools and power tools common to industrial maintenance.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, maintaining focus and efficiency under pressure.
- Proven experience as a tissue converting maintenance technician or industrial maintenance technician, demonstrating your expertise and reliability.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team, contributing to collective goals.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality and precision in all aspects of your work.
- Relevant certifications or training in machinery maintenance and electrical/controls systems is a plus, reflecting your dedication to professional development.
Desired Skills:
· Knowledge of industrial control systems including AB, Siemens, Omron and Mitsubishi.
· 10 years as an Industrial Maintenance Technician.
· Have an in-depth understanding of Preventative/Predictive Maintenance principles.
· Understand and can complete a GANTT for maintenance days.
· Can operate a lathe and milling machine (not CNC).
Education and Experience:
- Vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Specialized training or certification in electrical systems and controls is highly desirable.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, reflecting the physical demands of the job.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as necessary to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
