Vice President, Consultant Relations

Location Preference: New York City, Boston, Chicago

Estimated Salary Range: $200,000-$220,000 Base Bonus

Position Summary

The firm is seeking a Vice President to help strengthen its presence within the institutional consultant community, with an emphasis on firms based in the Eastern United States. This role plays a central part in expanding consultant awareness, improving strategy placements within research platforms, and developing meaningful relationships with field consultants, OCIOs, and other influential stakeholders. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is motivated by shaping outcomes across a major institutional distribution channel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of a multi‑level Consultant Relations team, working together to manage and prioritize engagement across the global consultant landscape.
  • Take the lead on Tier 1 and Tier 2 consultant relationships in the Eastern region, while supporting senior team members on select global accounts.
  • Build robust, multi‑touchpoint relationships with research analysts, field consultants, OCIO teams, and other decision-makers to increase visibility and strategic alignment.
  • Drive strong research ratings and leverage them into tangible opportunities, including searches, platform inclusions, and mandate activity.
  • Represent the firm's investment capabilities through regular meetings, conference participation, and other targeted outreach efforts.
  • Partner closely with Institutional Sales and Relationship Management to coordinate coverage and position the firm effectively in competitive situations.
  • Develop thoughtful engagement plans for key consultants, conduct ongoing strategy reviews, and align internal resources around priority opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in institutional asset management, including direct responsibility for consultant coverage.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence consultant recommendations and secure new strategy approvals.
  • Series 7 and 63 preferred, or willingness to obtain within six months.
  • CFA, CAIA, or other relevant advanced designation preferred.
  • Ability to travel regularly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex investment concepts to consultant audiences.
  • High level of collaboration and ability to work effectively across investment, sales, and relationship teams.
  • Strong prioritization skills and comfort operating in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Deep knowledge of the institutional landscape, including consultant research and ratings processes.
  • Familiarity with real estate and real assets is a plus.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in daily work and team culture.

Salary : $200,000 - $220,000
