ROLE OVERVIEW & EXPECTATIONS
- Provide financial oversight and insight into technology spending across systems, platforms, and digital services to support fiscal discipline and business objectives.
- Evaluate historical and projected cost patterns to identify financial exposure, optimization opportunities, and operational impact areas.
- Investigate technology expenditure data to surface overlapping tools, underutilized services, and opportunities to streamline costs.
- Create and evolve analytical models, data visualizations, and executive‑level reporting that offer clear visibility into spending efficiency and resource consumption.
- Partner with technology delivery and infrastructure teams to collect, validate, and analyze costs associated with hardware, cloud solutions, applications, and vendor services.
- Contribute to short‑term and long‑range financial planning efforts by supporting forecast development and budget tracking activities.
- Maintain ongoing awareness of vendor agreements, license counts, and renewal timelines to minimize financial risk and prevent compliance issues.
- Participate in governance reviews for technology investments by assessing financial assumptions, validating value projections, and supporting funding decisions.
- Design performance measurements that quantify effectiveness, productivity, and return on investment across IT operations.
- Assist with internal and external audit support by ensuring financial artifacts, approval workflows, and supporting documentation meet required standards.
- Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to analyze product and tool adoption, reduce portfolio complexity, and encourage use of approved enterprise platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a comparable academic discipline.
- Three to five years of hands‑on experience in financial operations, performance analysis, or business support functions within a large‑scale organizational environment.
- Working familiarity with enterprise financial systems and service management tools, including ERP and ITSM platforms (e.g., Microsoft applications, Oracle, Jira, Concur).
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, perform advanced analysis, and present findings using spreadsheet modeling and visualization tools such as Power BI or similar.
- Practical understanding of technology cost accounting, including operational versus capital expenditures, cost allocation, and consumption‑based models.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to influence decisions and partner effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Exposure to formal technology financial disciplines such as IT Financial Management or Technology Business Management is beneficial.
- Awareness of governance, compliance, and service management practices used in enterprise IT environments is desirable.
- Industry certifications related to finance, delivery, or governance (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CFA, CGEIT) are advantageous but not mandatory.
