A growing independent insurance agency is seeking a Commercial Account Representative with a strong P&C commercial lines background. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client facing environment and has hands on experience supporting commercial accounts, underwriting workflows, and agency operations.
You will partner closely with producers and clients to deliver tailored insurance solutions, manage policy servicing, and drive retention across a diverse book of commercial business.
- Partner with producers to evaluate, structure, and recommend commercial P&C coverage strategies
- Serve as a primary point of contact for insureds on policy questions, renewals, and new business
- Market and remarket accounts across carriers based on underwriting appetite and pricing strategy
- Independently manage an assigned book of commercial lines business, including endorsements, policy changes, and documentation
- Support renewal strategy, account retention, and cross sell opportunities
- Maintain accurate and timely data within the agency management system
- Coordinate submissions, quotes, binding, and policy issuance
- Assist senior account managers with complex accounts and overflow workflow
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active P&C license or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting, servicing, or account management
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- Advanced licensing or certifications within P&C
- 4 or more years of commercial lines experience
- Independent agency experience supporting middle market or small business accounts
- Strong understanding of P&C commercial lines products, coverages, and rating factors
- Knowledge of carrier underwriting guidelines and appetite across multiple markets
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication with clients, carriers, and internal teams
- Experience with agency management systems and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Detail oriented, organized, and proactive in managing client needs
- Professional office setting with a collaborative team
- Standard Monday through Friday schedule
- Occasional extended hours based on business needs
- Minimal travel, with possible attendance at local industry or networking events
Salary : $75,000 - $110,000
