A reputable Life and Annuity Insurance company is seeking an experienced and results-driven Actuarial Manager to lead key valuation and financial reporting functions across a diverse life and annuity portfolio. This role is ideal for an FSA with management experience who wants to play a hands-on role in financial reporting, model governance, and team leadership.Key Responsibilities:Lead quarter-end valuation and financial reporting processes under GAAP and Statutory accounting standards.Manage and mentor a team of actuarial associates responsible for valuation, reporting, and analysis.Maintain, validate, and enhance Prophet 360 models for life and annuity products.Ensure accuracy of reserves, assumptions, and model results through rigorous validation and controls.Collaborate with Finance, Risk, and IT to support audits, improve automation, and strengthen model governance.Monitor regulatory changes impacting valuation, including GAAP LDTI and statutory updates.Provide leadership in assumption setting, experience studies, and methodology documentation.Drive strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and governance within the actuarial team.Qualifications:Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) required.8-15 years of actuarial experience, including management or team leadership in valuation or financial reporting.Strong knowledge of GAAP and Statutory valuation frameworks, including LDTI.Hands-on experience with Prophet 360 or similar actuarial modeling software (AXIS, MG-ALFA).Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL or Python preferred.Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and communicate effectively across functions.Company DescriptionOperating as part of Phaidon International, Selby Jennings is a multi-award winning global recruitment organization focused on servicing the financial industry.By breaking down financial markets into individual niches and micro-specialisms, Selby Jennings powers a knowledge-led model, delivering global solutions into local markets.
