POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Leader is responsible for the Pasadena site Reliability and Maintenance Department. This position is a critical leadership role driving both the performance and growth of the facility. The incumbent will provide leadership and oversight to improve work practice and preventative maintenance programs while managing the department budget, identifying and implementing improvement strategies and ensure compliance with effected regulations to achieve site goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead/nurture a strong Safety performance culture
- Be knowledgeable, ensure compliance and provide consistent interpretation of all applicable regulatory codes, engineering standards (including OHSA PSM) and corporate requirements
- Ensure the effective utilization and cost control of maintenance services
- Audit the maintenance team’s contribution and performance to ensure business needs are met
- Monitor and provide necessary training and assign resources to meet needs and priorities
- Root Cause Failure Analysis leader for non-conformances. Implement solutions and make improvements to prevent reoccurrence
- Support the capital process in order to achieve business strategy and objectives
- Lead site turnaround activities
- Champion site and company initiatives
- Demonstrate strong leadership presence across the plant, driving engagement and supporting cross-functional projects and teams
- Direct all activities and maintenance personnel needed to perform routine maintenance and complete special projects
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years of maintenance/reliability engineering experience
- Experience with SAP (or equivalent), budgeting, and procurement
- Working knowledge of OHSA PSM and Mechanical Integrity Programs
- Demonstrated communication and listening skills with proven ability to communicate internally and externally through all levels of the organization including cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strongly motivated and proven track record to lead workgroups and drive results
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a continuously changing environment
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Supervisory experience
- ISO 9001/14001 experience
- Understanding of and experience with continuous process improvement tools such as Kaizen or Six Sigma
- Project Management experience
- Advanced Fixed, Rotating and/or instrument electrical troubleshooting experience
- Knowledgeable in the Chemical manufacturing industry
