The Inventory and Material Transfer Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and movement of all inventory within and between company facilities. This role serves as the primary owner of inventory control processes, including cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, and material transfers. The position also supports plant safety initiatives and promotes a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records through daily cycle counts and system updates
- Review, audit, and validate inventory count sheets; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Identify root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate and execute material transfers between plant locations
- Operate a box truck to transport materials safely and efficiently as needed
- Ensure all material movements are properly documented and recorded in inventory systems
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or issues to appropriate departments
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory-related questions and problem resolution
- Support production by ensuring timely and accurate material availability
- Lead and participate in plant safety initiatives and safety team activities
- Promote compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Assist with inventory audits and reporting as required
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory control and material flow
