Duties
- Develop detailed excavation estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and site conditions using advanced estimating software such as B2W and Insite Software
- Collaborate with project management teams to understand scope, schedule, and technical requirements for excavation projects.
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for earthwork, site preparation, grading, and related activities.
- Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Prepare bid proposals that clearly outline scope of work, costs, and timelines to win new projects.
- Monitor project costs during execution to ensure adherence to budgets through effective cost control measures.
- Maintain detailed records of contracts, change orders, and project documentation to support accurate forecasting and reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on excavation or earthwork projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as B2W and Insite Software; familiarity with contract management tools is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing while fostering positive relationships with vendors and clients.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
- Solid understanding of cost control strategies and pricing methodologies within the construction industry.
