What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracting Sales Support Specialist position at Seiberlich Trane Energy Services?

The Contracting Sales Support Specialist is responsible for mentoring, developing, and supporting our different business streams’ salespeople including New Business Development, Service Account Managers, Contracting Sales, New System Sales, and Inside Technical Sales Engineers. Additional responsibilities include aiding in the selling of value-based business solutions for our strategic clients. These include turnkey, BAS, and energy based solutions. The individual promotes Seiberlich Trane Energy Services value proposition at both the facility and executive level providing solutions to the client’s business and financial challenges.

Compensation: Salary range $130k to $150k to commensurate with experience in addition to a lucrative benefit package and profit sharing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.

  • Works with our Sales Teams to develop and execute an account specific business plan to facilitate a strong, profitable and successful partnership.
  • Develops Sales Team competencies of contracting solutions, processes, and client relationships through developing and auditing proposals, attending sales calls, and reviewing upcoming opportunities.
  • Works with our Sales Team to develop estimates and assists in drawings and estimate reviews.
  • Identifies potential opportunities with existing and new strategic clients.
  • Develops multiple relationships in the client’s organization with economic buyers and buying influences including facility directors, project managers, project engineers, construction, and purchasing.
  • Consistently ascertains customer needs and current market opportunities.
  • Provides marketplace feedback, including competitive information, client expectations, industry technologies and industry trends.
  • Provides leadership to the BAS and/or Energy Services teams on complex projects:
  • Completes the following with Sales Team members:
    • Gathers or validates preliminary information and performs facility walkthrough or other commitment.
    • Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all of the client’s facility requirements.
    • Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with client.
    • Ensures proposed project fulfillment schedule meets client requirements.
    • Coordinates selection, pricing, and integrates equipment, controls, and services for each project.
    • Validates the preliminary offering with client.
    • Provides solutions to meet project milestone commitments (scope and timeline)
    • Determine proposal price and selling strategy.
    • Participates in project turnover meeting to validate project readiness for assignment to operations team.
    • Resolves major deviations from scope with team after Project Scope Validation.
    • Attends project progress meetings to help maintain schedule, scope and margin adherence
    • Coordinates other resources and roles (Seiberlich Trane Energy Services or otherwise), as required, to perform functions above
  • Continues to pursue in-depth product and service knowledge and acquire deeper selling, technical and financial skills
  • Participates in Sales and departmental meetings.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or Engineering Technology; or two (2) years of related experience and/or training
  • 15 years of work experience in HVAC or related construction industry
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and mastery of Auto Cad or Visio, and Blueprint reading experience are also required.
