Assembly Mechanic – Aerospace Structures

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and test aircraft structural and system components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and process specifications.
• Perform structural repairs, including the removal and replacement of aircraft structures and major skin changes on Boeing 737 aircraft.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, charts, sketches, and engineering documentation.
• Use precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics to verify dimensions and ensure assemblies meet fit, form, and function requirements.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, assembly tooling, and CNC fastening equipment to complete structural assemblies.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering specifications, and manufacturing procedures.
• Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials or workmanship in accordance with quality procedures.
• Perform first article inspections, process surveillance, and maintain accurate quality records.
• Conduct pressure and vacuum testing, precision bench assembly, fuel cell sealing, and door installation where applicable.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and ensure tools and equipment remain properly certified.
• Support production schedules by completing work safely, efficiently, and within established timelines.
• Assist with training, mentoring, and cross-training team members in assembly and inspection techniques.
• Provide technical guidance and support for assembly, installation, and structural repair activities.
• Travel to AOG locations throughout the Wichita area to support rapid aircraft recovery and return-to-service efforts.
• Maintain your own tools and rolling toolbox required for field-based AOG assignments.
  
  

Key Requirements

• Will be working on Boeing 737 aircraft.
• Strong experience removing and replacing aircraft structures and completing major skin changes.
• Experience in an AOG or heavy maintenance environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to interpret structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Must provide your own tools and rolling toolbox.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Wichita area.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including up to 7 days per week when operational demands require.

We are seeking experienced Aircraft Structural Mechanics to support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) operations on Boeing 737 aircraft. This is a hands-on field role focused on structural repairs, including the removal and replacement of aircraft structures and major skin changes. Mechanics will travel between customer sites throughout the Wichita, KS area to respond quickly to maintenance requirements.

This is not a production or assembly line position. We are looking for skilled AOG mechanics who can work independently, troubleshoot structural issues, and perform repairs in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
