What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Segrera Associates?
We are working with a client in Fort Lauderdale, FL that is looking for a Sr Accountant to join their team. This role is fully onsite the first 6 months then will transistion to 1 day remote.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role and is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate must be willing to be hands-on with processing AP, AR, and payroll. Strong GL experience is ideal, but only required for Senior Accountant-level consideration. The ideal candidate brings a strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a hands-on approach to core accounting functions.
Sr Accountant Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end close activities
• Oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Assists with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and preparation of internal financial statements
• Supports cost tracking and financial reporting at a detailed operational level as applicable
• Partners with leadership to provide financial insights, variance analysis, and operational support
• Works cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure proper coding of transactions and accurate financial data
• Maintains compliance with internal accounting policies and supports ongoing process improvements
Sr Accountant Education & Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of general ledger accounting experience required for Senior Accountant-level consideration
• Experience supporting high-volume accounting environments strongly preferred
• Prior exposure to AP, AR, and payroll processes required
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
