What You’ll Do
As a Paralegal on the Insurance Coverage team, you’ll work closely with a talented team of attorneys, supporting their efforts on challenging and high-profile cases. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and preparing legal documents such as motions, briefs, discovery responses, settlement documents, and more.
- Managing discovery processes, including extensive document review and preparation.
- Tracking key deadlines and maintaining an organized calendar to ensure timely court filings.
- Conducting legal research on case facts, statutes, and case law to provide critical insights.
- Assisting attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials, ensuring all necessary documentation is ready.
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors to facilitate smooth case management.
- Using e-discovery tools and databases, including NetDocs, to manage case information and documents.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter who has a passion for litigation and enjoys working as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of defense litigation experience—experience in insurance coverage is a desired, but experience in general liability or insurance defense will also be considered.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools like LexisNexis.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
