Segal McCambridge, a dynamic national litigation firm, is seeking a motivated and skilled Paralegal to join our Insurance Coverage team in our Ft. Lauderdale office (or Tampa office, or work fully remote from anywhere in Florida). This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to high-level litigation work while advancing their career within an expanding, well-respected firm.

What You’ll Do

As a Paralegal on the Insurance Coverage team, you’ll work closely with a talented team of attorneys, supporting their efforts on challenging and high-profile cases. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and preparing legal documents such as motions, briefs, discovery responses, settlement documents, and more.
  • Managing discovery processes, including extensive document review and preparation.
  • Tracking key deadlines and maintaining an organized calendar to ensure timely court filings.
  • Conducting legal research on case facts, statutes, and case law to provide critical insights.
  • Assisting attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials, ensuring all necessary documentation is ready.
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors to facilitate smooth case management.
  • Using e-discovery tools and databases, including NetDocs, to manage case information and documents.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter who has a passion for litigation and enjoys working as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of defense litigation experience—experience in insurance coverage is a desired, but experience in general liability or insurance defense will also be considered.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools like LexisNexis.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
